Old Time Dance for Children and Families at Macon County Library January 9, 2025
An afternoon session of traditional Appalachian Dance featuring basic square, circle, and contra dance movements will be held this Thursday, January 9, 3:30-4:30 p.m., on the wood floor of Macon County Public Library’s spacious Living Room, with professional dance teacher and caller Harrison Keely.
This free event is geared to elementary school-age youth and their families. The emphasis is on FUN!! As all these easy-to-learn dances are taught, beginners are welcome and you don’t need to bring a partner. There will be some adults present who are familiar with the moves to help the beginners. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes; no sandals, please.
The Library is at 149 Siler Farm Road, Franklin, with ample parking and wheelchair access. Enter through the Meeting Room door just beyond the main library entrance (which is temporarily closed for repairs). The event is produced by the Arts Council, 828-524-ARTS or email [email protected].
